    SU Saxophone Symposium: Liam Burden & Kurt Bertels in Concert @ Endler Hall, Stellenbosch

    On Saturday 13 April, the Department of Music at Stellenbosch University is hosting a Saxophone Symposium, which will end with a Concert at 16:00 featuring Departmental saxophone lecturer, Liam Burden, and Kurt Bertels, classical saxophonist and post-doctoral researcher from the Royal Conservatory and Vrije Universiteit Brussels.

    The performance will also feature saxophone students from the Department of Music, and the University of Stellenbosch Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by guest extraordinary-professor (brass, conducting) in the Department, Rik Ghesquière.

    Fourth Flanders-Malawi Country Strategy Paper for 2024-2028 launched in Lilongwe

    On Tuesday 7 November the launch of the fourth Flanders-Malawi Country Strategy Paper for International Cooperation (CSP IV) for 2024-2028 took place in Lilongwe, Malawi. The launch was hosted by the General Representative of Flanders in Southern Africa, Dr. Geraldine Reymenants, and Deputy General Representative for Malawi, Laurijn Van Steenbergen, accompanied by policy experts from the Flanders Chancellery and Foreign Office. Guest of honour was the Honourable Minister of Agriculture, Sam Kawale, MP.

    Flanders extends support for evidence-based health policy in Mozambique

    Since 2013, Flanders and Mozambique have been collaborating on an evidence-based health policy to prepare for future challenges. Flanders, in partnership with the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) in Antwerp, has been providing support to the Mozambique National Health Institute (INS) to help it become a globally recognized scientific institution. The Government of Flanders intends to continue its support by granting €1,999,976 in funding.
