    From 10 - 16 October 2022, Sibikwa Arts Centre presents the Inaugural BODY MOVES International Inclusive Dance Festival for able-bodied and disabled dancers. The Festival includes dancers and dance companies from Ireland, Flanders, Italy and Netherlands, supported by their Embassies, as well as from South Africa and Uganda, supported by the British Council.

    For Flanders, Lisi Astaras' Monkey Mind Cie will perform together with SA's Unmute Company during the performances which will take place on 15 and 16 October, from 14:00 to 16:00.

    De Schrijver’s-werf is a project that aims to create a community of writers, poets and theatre-makers who are connected by the Dutch language commonality. This language commonality allows for participants to comprise individuals from a vast range of countries and regions. These countries and regions include but are not limited to the Netherlands, Flanders, Suriname, Aruba, Curaçao, Saint Martin, South Africa, and Namibia.

    The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra's second concert in the Spring Symphony Season is titled 'A Taste of Belgium'.

    The concert takes place on Thursday, 15 September at the Cape Town City Hall at 20:00 and is supported by the Delegation of Flanders in Southern Africa.

    Flemish conductor Rik Ghesquière and violinist Jolente De Maeyer will perform August De Boeck’s Violin Concerto with the CPO, who will also perform De Boeck’s Dahameene Rhapsody. The third work to be performed will be Symphony in D minor by César Franck, the Belgian-born composer.

    The Consulate General of Belgium in Cape Town and Flanders Southern Africa are organising a documentary screening of "Pride is Protest" in the presence of the Flemish director Marieke Dermul on 31 May in Cape Town. The event is organised in the framework of #idahot2022. After the screening, Dermul will engage with journalist Carl Collison and the audience, in a talk led by Khanyisile Phillips. RSVP by 29 May.

    On Wednesday 20 October (18.00 to 19.00), a live discussion will be held with directors Jan Verheyen and Lien Willaert, together with health and education activist Mark Heywood (editor, Daily Maverick, Citizen). They will discuss the film's topic: a family’s struggles against the pharmaceutical industry to gain access to medicine for their daughter.
