Flanders Day Online: Jazz

On the occasion of Flanders Day, we have compiled five videos showcasing original and inspiring cooperation projects between Flanders and South Africa.

Day 3: Small World is a cooperative jazz project, the brainchild of Flemish pianist Ewout Pierreux and South African trumpet player Marcus Wyatt, featuring Steven Delannoye (BE) on saxophone, Romy Brauteseth (SA) on bass and Teun Verbruggen (BE) on drums.

August 2019 saw the project touring South Africa with great success, inspiring audiences from Cape Town and Darling, through East London and Durban, and finally to Johannesburg, Soweto and Pretoria.

The band continues its intercontinental journey, moving between Flanders and South Africa to create music, exchange sound and share their passion for jazz.
