The Shukuma Mzansi International Community Arts Centres Conference 2017 took place from 22 to 24 March, and was hosted by the Sibikwa Arts Centre in Benoni, in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture. This conference, funded under the SA-EU Strategic Partnership Dialogue Facility, provides a forum for dialogue between various Irish, Flemish, French and South African community cultural centres. Topics that were covered include capacity building, programming, sourcing funding and policy implementation, and involved an exchange of ideas and strategies between the participants.
From Flanders, cultural centers De Warande in Turnhout and De Roma in Borgerhout were represented at the conference.
