A South African delegation from the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) paid a working visit to Flanders from 4 to 9 February, in the framework of the longstanding cooperation on youth policy. The delegation was introduced to several Flemish youth work initiatives and was received by Minister Sven Gatz and Alderman Jinnih Beels.

While at the Department of Culture, Youth and Culture, the cooperation with Flanders’ South African colleagues was discussed, youth workers from South Africa visited Flemish youth work organisations, such as the Flemish Youth Council.

Since 1994, Flanders and South Africa are building a strong youth policy and youth work development. The six-day visit was part of a 5-year programme, called 'Upscaling and promoting youth volunteering in civil society organisations'.
