“Koningin Lear” is an adaptation of William Shakespeare by one of Flanders’ most celebrated playwrights, Tom Lanoye. Translated in Afrikaans by Antjie Krog, and directed by Marthinus Basson, the production showcases the finest South African actors. Following successful performances at the KKNK and the Aardklop Festival earlier this year, the powerful story is staged at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town this week.

On the occasion of the Belgian Week in South Africa, the Embassy of Belgium in Pretoria and the General Representation of the Government of Flanders hosted a special evening on 15 November - King’s Day in Belgium - with writer Tom Lanoye as guest of honor.
The last performances take place today at the Baxter Theatre (2PM and 7PM). Make sure not to miss it: http://www.baxter.co.za/shows/koningin-lear/
