On 1 October, the University of Western Cape hosted the launch of the Ghent University and VUB Alumni Chapters in South Africa. The Vice-Chancellors of UWC, Ghent University and VUB welcomed the alumni and stressed the relevance of international experiences and connecting with students and alumni. H.E. Amb. Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador Designate of Belgium, and Dr. Geraldine Reymenants, General Representative of the Government of Flanders, both attended the event. The Alumni Chapters will actively contribute to the already strong, existing academic ties between Flemish and South African universities.
