On 30 and 31 October 2019, the Kasungu District Agricultural Development Division (ADD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organised a market symposium for smallholder farmers in Kasungu. The theme of the symposium was “Agriculture Commercialisation: Key to Increased Farmer’s Resilience”. The aim is to promote the transition of consumption-orientated agriculture to market-orientated agricultural production for the participants (cooperatives, associations, farmer field schools).

The symposium was funded by the Government of Flanders under the 3rd Country Strategy Paper between Flanders and Malawi.
